Enjoying St Helens

St Helens is a great and busy place. There is a lot to do here, but one of the very first things we think you should try out is The World of Glass. This venue consistently ranks highly in local attraction guides, and it is easy to see why. Even if you have never considered it before, understanding the history of glass is fantastic, and you’re sure to enjoy the in-depth displays and knowledge provided here. You can buy some wonderful glass pieces too, so you can take away a lovely souvenir of your time here. Children love The World of Glass, and you’re sure to have a great time visiting. Be sure to fit in the tour around the ruins of the original glassworks. All this and more is on offer here, and The World of Glass is one of those places that, once you’ve visited, you’ll never forget.

St Helens has a fantastic rugby heritage, and the Totally Wicked Stadium is where you can enjoy watching the sport, or even just going for a day out to see one of the very best purpose-built stadiums in the country. There are excellent match day events, including children’s rugby games before the main event. Plenty of great opportunities to eat and drink, as well as the history of the team available to soak up everywhere you go inside the venue. It’s simply a great day out, and if you’re able to catch the home team while you’re there, that’s even better. Well worth a visit, if only to see how amazing the stadium looks and feels.

Our final attraction is the wonderful Sherdley Park. This is a huge area of greenery and includes a wealth of things to do. One of the best things about the park is the array of cycle paths it has. Hiring bikes and taking them out with your family is always great fun. Still, at the park, the beauty of the natural landscape and the quality of the paths is something else. It’s also full of great areas for children to play in and let their imaginations run wild.
